Southern Ocean Walk

Front and centre in our walk is the spectacular South Coast with its pristine coast line and rugged landscape. The Southern Ocean is our permanent companion as we follow the iconic Heysen Trail. The jewel in this crown is Deep Creek Conservation Park, the largest parcel of uncleared sclerophyll forest in the Mount Lofty Ranges. The Park is rich in wildlife and home to several endangered native animals and rare orchids. To date, 118 bird species have been recorded and the ever present western grey kangaroos are prolific throughout the Park. A not widely known fact is that more species of fungi are found here than anywhere else in the State.
